How is this different from other chiropractic care?
My primary focus is on the spine-brain relationship and how posture effects the brain’s function. This focus on the brain-body connection means I address not just your physical pain, but also symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, and cognitive issues that other providers might overlook. I treat the patient with the condition, not just the condition itself.
What makes your treatment approach unique?
With over 30 years of experience, I specialise in addressing the root causes of your symptoms rather than just providing temporary relief. My approach combines gentle spinal adjustments with postural improvement, with a particular focus on forward head posture, a common cause of many seemingly unrelated symptoms.
Do you only treat back and neck pain?
Not at all. While I do treat spinal conditions, I also address headaches, brain fog, fatigue, shoulder tension, arm numbness, and cognitive issues. Many patients are surprised to learn how these symptoms connect to spinal alignment and nervous system function.

Is the treatment painful?
With over 30 years of experience, I have learned a number of different techniques so I will always select a technique that I believe will fit the patient’s comfort level yet still get the job done. Most patients find treatment relaxing and often experience immediate relief. I always work within your comfort level and explain what I’m doing before each adjustment.
Will I hear cracking or popping sounds during treatment?
This really depends on which technique I use. Sometimes you may hear popping sounds during adjustments, but this isn’t necessary for effective treatment. The sounds are simply gas bubbles releasing from joints and are completely normal and harmless.
Do you use instruments or just hands-on treatment?
I primarily use a hands-on technique, but I do also use instruments and the chiropractic table with ‘drop’ pieces. I try to fit a technique to the patient so that the adjustment is within each individual’s comfort zone. This personalised approach ensures the most effective and comfortable treatment possible. My methods are precise and comfortable, developed over three decades of practice.

How long before I see results?
Many patients notice improvements after their first few visits, with significant changes typically occurring within 2-4 weeks of consistent care. However, everyone heals at their own pace depending on factors like age, condition severity, and lifestyle.
Why do some people get better faster than others?
Several factors affect healing speed: how long you’ve had the problem, your overall health, age, stress levels, work demands, sleep quality, and how closely you follow treatment recommendations. Acute problems typically respond faster than chronic conditions.
What if I don't feel better right away?
Some patients experience immediate relief, while others need several treatments before noticing significant improvement. The body prioritises healing in a specific way. There are times when the body is healing at a deeper level and so symptoms can take longer to go away. Your body needs time to adapt to proper alignment and break old patterns. I’ll monitor your progress closely and adjust your treatment plan as needed.
How will I know if the treatment is working?
You’ll likely notice improvements in pain levels, range of motion, sleep quality, energy levels, and cognitive function. Many patients also report better mood and reduced stress. We’ll track your progress together at each visit.
About Treatment Frequency and Duration

Do I need ongoing treatment?
Initially, more frequent visits help create lasting changes. As you improve, visits become less frequent, focusing on maintenance and prevention. The goal is to get you better and keep you better with minimal ongoing care.
How often will I need to come in?
It will depend on the care plan you choose. Treatment frequency depends on your specific condition and goals. Initially, you might need 2-3 visits per week, reducing to weekly, then monthly as you improve. I’ll adjust your schedule based on your progress and response to treatment and your particular goals.
How long is each appointment?
New patient visits are 45 minutes to an hour with follow-up visits typically taking 15 – 20 minutes. I always allow adequate time to address your concerns and ensure you’re comfortable with your progress.
Can I just come when I'm in pain?
While you’re always welcome for acute care, waiting until you’re in pain is like only changing your car’s oil after the engine breaks down. Regular maintenance care helps prevent problems and keeps you functioning at your best.

Can you help with headaches?
Yes, I specialise in cervicogenic headaches (headaches that originate from the neck). Forward head posture and neck misalignment are common causes of chronic headaches that often respond well to gentle chiropractic care.
What about brain fog and concentration problems?
Absolutely. Spinal misalignment can affect blood flow to the brain and create inflammation that impacts cognitive function. Many patients experience improved mental clarity and focus as their nervous system function improves.
I have numbness and tingling in my arms. Can you help with that?
Yes, these symptoms often result from nerve compression in the neck or shoulder area due to postural problems. By addressing the underlying alignment issues, we can often reduce or eliminate these symptoms.

Can chiropractic care help with fatigue?
Yes. When your nervous system is compromised by poor posture and spinal misalignment, your body works harder to maintain basic functions. Restoring proper function often leads to improved energy levels.
What if my doctor says there's nothing wrong with me
Standard medical tests often miss functional problems related to posture, alignment, and nervous system interference. Just because imaging looks normal doesn’t mean there isn’t a treatable cause for your symptoms.

Is chiropractic treatment safe?
Chiropractic care, especially the gentle techniques I use, is extremely safe when performed by a licensed professional. Serious complications are exceedingly rare, particularly with low-force methods.
Am I too old for chiropractic care?
Age is rarely a barrier to chiropractic care. My gentle techniques are appropriate for people of all ages and health conditions.
What if I have osteoporosis or other health conditions?
I modify my techniques based on your individual health status. Having other health conditions doesn’t necessarily prevent you from receiving chiropractic care, but it may influence the approach I take.
Can I continue my other treatments while seeing you?
Absolutely. Chiropractic care often complements other treatments you may be receiving. I encourage you to continue with your other healthcare providers and will coordinate care when appropriate.

What should I wear to appointments?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. If female, preferably wear gym clothes or pants. You’ll remain fully clothed during treatment, so avoid restrictive clothing or high heels.
Can I exercise after treatment?
Light exercise is usually fine and often beneficial after treatment. I’ll provide specific guidelines based on your condition and treatment response. Heavy lifting or intense exercise may need to be modified initially.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens, and I understand that sometimes you need to change appointments. Please give as much notice as possible so I can offer your time slot to another patient who might need it.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is necessary. You can schedule directly with me. However, if you’re more comfortable discussing it with your primary care physician first, that’s perfectly fine.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring a list of your current medications, any recent imaging reports (X-rays, MRIs), and information about previous treatments you’ve tried. Most importantly, bring your questions and concerns.
How do I know if you can help me?
The best way to find out is through a comprehensive evaluation. During your first visit, I’ll assess your condition and give you an honest opinion about whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your situation.
What if you can't help me?
If I determine that your condition would be better served by another type of healthcare provider, I’ll refer you to an appropriate specialist. Your health and well-being are my primary concerns, even if that means referring you elsewhere.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can call or text directly or use our online booking system. We’ll find a time that works with your schedule and ensure you have adequate time for your comprehensive initial assessment.
